Description
String Deformation Sensor (DDS) is designed to measure the deformation of structures made of steel, concrete and reinforced concrete. It is used for long-term geotechnical monitoring, including in remote mode. The DDS consists of a cylindrical body, inside of which a steel wire is stretched between its two ends, acting as a string.
Outside the cylindrical body is a plastic casing protecting the coil, which excites and captures the frequency characteristics of the string oscillations. The DDS nomenclature includes two types of sensors that differ in the type of attachment to the structure prior to concrete pouring. One type is welded, the other is attached with wire.
Measuring range: 0 - 3000 ?? (microstrain). Accuracy (absolute strain) -/+ minus 2.4 ?m.
