The CompactPCI bus is compatible with the PCI bus known in PC technology in terms of the corresponding electrical characteristics. The mechanical characteristics are adapted to the widely used system with interchangeable 19" rack-mounted Euro boards. The busbar is therefore also suitable for use in industrial circuits. The previously unattainable signal transmission speeds realised by the layout technologies guarantee more stable and reliable operation of modules operating in a limited range. These backplanes feature a completely new approach to energy buffering that operates across the entire frequency range. This approach guarantees increased reliability through more stable supply voltages directly at the slot under variable loads.
