High-Frequency Blockers for Efficient Communication Over High-Voltage Power Lines

High-frequency barriers with natural air cooling are designed to create high-frequency communication channels over high-voltage power lines. They consist of a reactor, a tuning element and a protective device. As a protective device a non-linear type surge arrester without spark gaps is used, which provides effective protection against overvoltages.

The adjustment element of ENZ type is used as an adjustment element. In order to increase the electrical strength of the product elements and to protect them from the ambient environment, the interior of the ENZ housing is filled with an electrically insulating compound. In order to increase the width of the barrier bands in the most frequently used upper part of the operating frequency range, a quasi-poly-nomial scheme is used.

Fail-safe operation in the process of long-term operation is provided by application of highly stable element base with the use of pulse high-frequency capacitors and varistors.
