Ground Landing Zone Lights for Enhanced Safety in Aviation

Directed landing site lights shall be installed on both sides of the runway perpendicular to the runway side lights line at a distance from the runway threshold of 0.1 runway length but not less than 150 metres. There shall be at least three lights on each side, the interval between the landing place lights shall be 2-3 metres. The lights are directional lights of white colour.

Directional lights with parallel (serial) power supply are designed for light marking of the landing site in the absence of glissade lights in the schemes of placement of lighting and signalling equipment OMI and SP-1. Dimensions and scheme of installation are defined in NGEAGA-92..
