During high-speed manoeuvring, the vehicle may skid uncontrollably. In such a skid, the braking pressure automatically increases on the right or left front wheel (depending on the direction of the turn), which is detected by the ESP® hydraulic unit sensors, causing the ESP® control unit to send a signal to slow down the corresponding wheel.
