The thermodiffusion gazortooth TIGR-1 source is designed for obtaining gazortooth mixture with known mass concentration of mercury. The device is used for verification and calibration of mercury analysers, as well as for solving a number of research tasks.
The principle of operation of gazortutnyh sources is based on the effect of quasi-stationary diffusion of a binary gas system, occurring in a capillary of small diameter, filled with carrier gas, with a small amount of metallic mercury placed at the bottom, at a fixed temperature. The formation of the mercury-gas mixture takes place in a mixing chamber where, when blown with diluent gas, the pure substance (metallic mercury) diffuses into the gas stream at a constant rate.
