The oxygen generator is designed to provide breathing for aircraft passengers after sudden depressurisation of the cabin and makes it possible to significantly reduce the impact on a person of severe consequences of decompression and hypoxia.
The method of oxygen generation is based on thermocatalytic decomposition of the working substance placed in a cylindrical case, which also contains a starting shock-mechanical device, heat-insulating and filtering elements. The generator is activated automatically when a passenger puts on a face mask, which is mechanically connected to the cheque of the triggering device. The flow rate of released oxygen tracks the height of the aircraft descent and can provide breathing simultaneously for up to 4 passengers.
