Optical Cable OKGT-C for High Voltage Power Lines and Monitoring Systems

For organisation of fibre-optic communication lines on overhead power lines with voltage 35 kV and higher; For distributed temperature and acoustic monitoring systems (DTS, DAS) of cases of dangerous activity in the area of power lines, lightning strikes, short circuits. The cable contains a central steel optical module with loosely laid fibres. The optical fibres in the module are grouped into bundles.

Each fibre bundle is wrapped with coloured synthetic filament. The free space in the optical module is filled with a hydrophobic gel. A single bundle of reinforcing wires is spirally applied to the central optical module.

Aluminium-clad steel wire eliminates corrosion and increases thermal resistance; Protection of power lines from lightning overvoltages; Element of distributed monitoring system.
