Description
A small rounded plug or cap designed to tightly close the proximal end of an intramedullary rod after implantation. Prevents scar tissue from sprouting inside a hollow rod implanted to treat damaged bone (e.g. fracture) and facilitates removal of the rod.
It is also used to securely lock the proximal oblique clamping bolt, and allows the length of the bone rod to be increased if necessary. It is used with acetabular, femoral, humeral, suprascapular and tibial rods. It is a single-use product.
