Elar Robot R-2 Planetary Book Scanner for Efficient Book Digitization

The automatic scanning complex ELARobot R-2 is designed for automatic scanning of books. The digitisation speed, depending on the book format, reaches 3000 pages/hour in automatic mode. During scanning there is a possibility to switch to semi-automatic or manual mode of operation.

The innovative scanning system, based on a scanning prism with a system of vacuum lifting and page turning, allows to digitise originals of absolutely different quality (different density and texture) from books of the 15th century to modern literature as carefully and accurately as possible. The unique book cradle with a variable opening angle from 60 to 100 degrees, made of natural wood of valuable species, allows you to completely exclude damage to books (scuffing, tearing of the spine) in the process of scanning. The scanning system is equipped with a laser pointer of the centre of the book spine, which provides quick and convenient adjustment of the scanner to any original.
