One of the main advantages of this vertical band saw is the wide-mouth moving column, which allows cross-cutting of large boards using a smaller band saw than horizontal (column) band saws. This directly results in lower cutting costs and is achieved by cutting across the blade at the smallest cross-sectional area - height rather than width.
