Applied at one-sided automatic and manual electric arc welding with the use of forming copper lining plates. The fixture is favoured by bridge builders because of the significant time savings in preparation for the welding operation.
In the traditional technology, the pad holders are welded and this operation involves two fitters and a qualified welder, after welding the pad holders have to be dismantled and this again involves a qualified welder and fitters. When using the magnetic holder, two fitters can do the job 2.5 times faster than with conventional technology. The magnets are connected and disconnected in minutes and hold the plate securely in place.
MDFP-2 is used for more complex geometry of welded surfaces. According to experts' estimates, when using MDFP - 2, the working time saving is 2.5 hours for welding a 10-12 metre seam, and labour costs are reduced by 4.5 times.
