Muffler-neutraliser (GN) is designed to work in the exhaust gas exhaust system on the basis of SCR technology for the YAMZ-653 engine installed on the URAL vehicle. In this technology, the chemical reaction of reduction occurs selectively, i.e. only the content of nitrogen oxides is purposefully reduced in the exhaust gas. When heated to 200C, the reduction catalyst reaches its operating temperature.
The system control unit receives the exhaust gas temperature before the reduction catalyst from the exhaust gas t sensor. The AdBlue solution is drawn from the tank by a pump and pumped at a pressure of 6 bar through a heated pipe to the urea injector. The injected urea is picked up by the exhaust gas flow. In the section to the reduction catalyst, the so-called hydrolysis section, the urea is broken down into ammonia and carbon dioxide.
In the reduction catalyst, the ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and water. GN also reduces noise levels.
